One of the most beautiful of all eucalyptus varieties... 'Baby Blue' is sometimes called 'Silver Dollar' or 'Silver Mountain Gum' and is a stunning, silvery blue, spreading shrub that retains its juvenile foliage into maturity. The colour is striking and creates an amazing contrast in floral arrangements.
I enjoy visiting these shrubby trees every time we go to mum-in-laws farm near Canberra, especially when their fresh new growth appears in blushing shades of mauve and lilac. This special Australian gum tree loves the cold highlands and is native to New South Wales; it is most commonly found growing wild around the Snowy Mountains region.
