Phylica pubescens
Soft, feathery blooms that have to be felt to be appreciated. Think soft bunny tails spun into beautiful, velvety whorls! This South African native is a tough shrubby plant that flowers in winter and spring, with tiny flowers that appear at the end of stems covered in warm, creamy, golden bracts.
Like so many South African and Australian native plants, this one dries perfectly due to the low water content of the flowers and foliage. For all of you neutral-lovers out there, this one is for you! They glow on their own in a vase, and they add incredible texture to dried arrangements and wreaths.
