Ammobium daisies or 'Winged Everlastings' are stunning Australian natives with charming, round blooms that sit upon long, silvery legs. These fleshy stems have unique ribbons or ‘wings’ along them, which is where their name comes from. Whorls of shimmering, snow-white petals surround a prominent, contrasting yellow centre that fades to a mustardy-brown as it dries.
Native to the northwestern tablelands of New South Wales, these are a soft-wooded perennials and one that you may have seen growing in the wild or along roadsides. They are now commonly found around the dry grasslands of NSW and the ACT and are even considered weedy in some areas.
